#6 Elephant Cave / Goa Gajah
Goa Gajah is cut into a stone face and you enter through the mouth of a huge evil spirit. Inside the T-formation, you can see the fragmentary remains of the lingam, the phallus image of the Hindu god Shiva, and his female partner Yoni, to the statue of the child Shiva, the elephant-headed Ganesha god. Before giving up there were two square washing pools with water showers held by six female figures. Goa Gajah dates back to the eleventh century, serving as an immersive place for contemplation. The main venue is down a flight of roadside and stopping places, which are repaired with different craftsmanship and jewelry shops, and refreshment booths. Upon reaching the base, you will pass by a large “wantilan” convention lobby and extensive old stone carvings, some rebuilt to their former splendor.
